Did You Know?

According to Blue Zone author, Dan Buettner, "Having the Right Outlook" can help us to live better and longer. "Plan de vida" is an important concept for the Nicoyans of Costa Rica and translates to "why I wake up in the morning." A strong sense of purpose can buffer stress and positively impact health. Know what your gifts and talents are and put them to good use each day! Reduce stress by taking time each day to downshift. Stress-reduction may improve well-being and may decrease the incidence of many diseases such as dementia, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. On a daily basis, make time to rest and relax, connect with family and friends, pray or meditate, decrease noise and clutter, and arrive early to appointments to reduce stress.
