Executive Director Update
Next Tuesday, June 26, we celebrate MCC Member John Sten's life at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Avenue. The Memorial service is at 2pm at the Lakewood Byzantine Chapel followed by a reception at 3pm at the new Garden Mausoleum. MCC Member Sabina Sten shares: "His family, his business and personal friends, including through MCC, his classmates, clients, colleagues, caregivers at the VA and Hospice, all had a spot in John's heart - the connection he felt with each and everyone of you was very evident to me throughout his life. Thank you for enriching his life in the way you did!"
Tech Guru Andy Trawick is closing down his Digital with Andy business and relocating to Dallas, Texas. Andy has researched other tech help businesses to refer to his clients, and we are currently vetting a couple. We will have new tech resources for you soon, although Andy's shoes will be difficult to fill. Andy will be unavailable after this Friday.
You'll find the MCC July calendar below under Upcoming MCC Events. Thanks!

A note from Patti Ries, Mill City Commons
Program Coordinator
Did You Know?
"Eat Wisely" is one of the principles from Dan Buettner's The Blue Zone: Lessons for Living Longer from the People Who've Lived the Longest. Incorporate the Okinawan strategy of "Hara hachi bu"--eat until you are no longer hungry, but not yet full. Add a "Plant Slant" to your daily meals by eating 4-6 servings of vegetables daily, limiting your intake of meat, adding beans to your menu, and snacking on a handful of nuts each day. Top it off with a glass of red wine with your family and friends! For more information on Healthy Eating After 50 from the National Institute on Aging, click here
