Executive Director Update
I want to take a minute to recognize the Program Committee and thank them for the work they do to keep our calendar full and interesting. In January, MCC Members Patty Connelly and Peggy Lucas took on the role of Program Co-chairs, and I'm thrilled that they have jumped in with both feet. (FYI -- that is not the reason Peggy's foot is in a cast, nor why Patty will be having knee surgery March 1.) As many of you know, our Sunday Supper Soiree was launched at Patty's town home in January -- she loved this idea so much she volunteered to host the first two. Our second Sunday Supper Soiree is this coming Sunday at Patty's -- Thank you, Patty!! We'll be looking for members each month to host and others to bring the soup and dessert. You'll find details below on this month's soiree. -- Linnea

Guthrie Play Reading: The Birds
Tuesday, February 21, 6:30 - 9:30 pm; Guthrie Theater's 8th Floor Learning Center, 818 S. Second Street
Mysterious masses of birds have begun to violently attack at high tide, driving strangers Nat and Diane to take refuge in an isolated, abandoned house by the sea and form a bond to survive their haunting new circumstance. With no electricity and scarce food, the tension is palpable and hope is waning. Yet if two is company, three is a crowd, as the sudden arrival of a young woman with a mysterious nature of her own ruffles feathers in the house and quickly threatens to destroy their so-called sanctuary. A Guthrie dramaturg provides scripts and assigns parts. If you'd rather listen than read, let Linnea know.
