Executive Director Update
The last Education Series program for 2011 takes place Monday, November 28. MCC Member John Crosby invited Jon Foley, the director of the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment, and a well-regarded expert and adviser on global environmental issues to speak to us. Mr. Foley will be introduced by Provost Tom Sullivan. Jon is lead author of a cover story in this month's journal Nature ("Solutions for a cultivated planet"). The article is available online now and it's generating quite a buzz. The New York Times, NPR, Grist and many others are all reporting and writing about Jon's research. In addition, he also wrote a feature story about this topic for the current issue of Scientific American and spoke about it at a recent TEDxtalk. You'll find sign up information below. I hope to see you next Monday! -- Linnea
