Executive Director Note
The MCC Education Series launched earlier this year by MCC Members John Crosby, Bud Hayden, and Mary Bednarowski continues this month. They have invited thought leaders to share insights on several topics about succeeding in our knowledge economy.
On September 26, Dunwoody College of Technology President Rich Wagner, Ph.D. will tell us how Dunwoody teaches problem solving and critical thinking along with practical, real-world skills that are much sought after by business and industry. On October 24, Bush Foundation President Peter Hutchinson will tell us about their initiative to increase educational achievement by focusing on teachers. Their evidence proves that effective teaching can make a bigger difference than any other in-school variable.
On November 28 Dr. Jonathan Foley, Director, Institute on the Environment at the University of Minnesota will discuss living on a shrinking planet, discovering solutions through partnerships with business, NGOs and government, leadership development and cutting-edge research.
