Dear members,

As previously announced, the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce

programmed two major events for this month of June.

Starting with the event about "Brazil and its Businesses Opportunities now and in a short future" held in Montreal on June 2nd. The Canadian Consul-General in Sao Paulo, Abina Dann was the main speaker, followed by Louis Hamann, Director of the Quebec Office in Sao Paulo. Complementing the Seminar, three Executives belonging to different sectors gave their testimonials about their experiences in working with and in Brazil. The event was a great success for our Chapter in Montreal and the feedback, received immediately after the event by the attendees, were all positive and enthusiastic. Most of those who were present asked when a new event will be programmed in Montreal and demonstrated an increasing interest in having more participation and becoming Members. I would like to congratulate Alfredo Moreira, our Chairman there and Gabriela Pires. Both organized the event and were supported by the Ministry of Development of the Quebec Province.

On June 14th, in Ottawa, the AUCC (Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada) meeting was held, sponsored by the Brazilian Embassy and the DFAIT. BCCC was invited to present the keynote speech during the event and I was there to introduce to the audience the role of the Chamber and the private sector view about collaboration between Canadian and Brazilian Universities and Research Centers. The audience was very qualified, having high level Directors of the major Canadian and Brazilian Universities and Institutions. This is the second time BCCC is invited to participate and again, the role of our Chamber in putting together plans to have an increasing collaboration in that area between Brazil and Canada, was reinforced

Now, next Monday June 20th the Chamber is going to present the Seminar "Brazil: Opportunities for the World Cup, Olympic Games and Beyond" which will project specific opportunities and address some topics which have been asked by our Members, such as the Legal Structure and the Taxes Structure in Brazil. This Breakfast Seminar will be held at 1 King Street West and the registration of attendees, so far, has been impressive, demonstrating the interest raised about those matters that are going to be addressed.

       Sincerely,

Raul Papaleo

5th Brazil Film Fest

Festival

Partnership and sponsorship opportunities for 2011's Festival.

Over the past few years, slowly but steadily, Brazil has been climbing the heights to become the 5th biggest economy in the world, and now it's even preparing to host two of the most important global events: the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 2014 World Cup. All this has inspired the 5th Brazil Film Fest in Toronto to begin a celebration of the diverse and rich culture of Brazil's many states, starting in 2011 with the theme of Bahia, a place for everybody

The Brazil Film Fest not only showcases Brazilian films, but also works to create opportunities to develop and consolidate professional and creative contacts between Brazil and Canada. If your company has an active presence in the Canadian and/or the Brazilian markets, or if your company wants to have a presence in these two markets, the festival can be the opportunity you have been looking for.

The 2010 Brazil Film Fest had partnerships and co-presentations with some of the most influential arts/film festivals of Toronto, like Hot Docs, Inside Out and Contact Toronto Photography Festival. It also had a great media coverage and marketing effort, with paid ads in the print media, and posters spread throughout the city, which helped to raise the Festival's presence in Toronto. For this year, the Festival is co-presenting a film with Hot Docs and there are much more to come.

Your sponsorship for 2011 will help consolidate your marketing strategy, either introducing or reinforcing your brand amongst a highly qualified audience of Brazilians and Canadians.

When: October 27th to 30th, 2011

Where: Opening night at TIFF Bell Lightbox and all other screenings at                 The Royal at 608 College St.
