President's Message

Raul_Papaleo_photo

From the period of late April up until early July, the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce has been, and will be, involved in plenty of new activities and decisions.

The Executive Board Meeting, which took place at the end of April, discussed the Financial Statements, Membership increase and Calendar of events up until the end of the year. We have decided to move to a larger office, as we have been visited almost on a daily basis by members and other visitors looking for business and we are needing a more comfortable place to host those visits. We have also decided to hire another part-time assistant.

On May 24th we will hold the "Sustainability" event at the Ontario Investment and Trade Center, located at 250 Yonge St.

Several events have been planned for the month of June. Abina Dann, Canadian Consul-General in Sao Paulo will be going to Montreal on June 2nd to present Opportunities in Brazil. On June 7th, together with the Brazilian Consulate in Toronto, we will be holding an event with Luciano Coutinho, president of BNDES, the Brazilian development Bank, the largest Development Bank in the World.

Finally, at the end of June, we will be hosting the event "DOING BUSINESS IN BRAZIL".

Our AGM will be happening on July 8th, followed by the second Brazilian Executives Happy Hour.

As you can follow by the description above, a number of important events are going to be held by the Chamber to foster more business and information about the relationship between Canada and Brazil. We are counting on all our members for the success of these events.

       Sincerely,

Raul Papaleo

President
