President's Message

Raul_Papaleo_photo

During the month of January 2011 the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce has been involved in several actions aligned with our 2011 Strategic and Operational Plan. We have a new office location, a revised and updated Newsletter, and we are actively pursuing our next events for February and March. We are also very pleased that we have had a strong influx of new members come into the Chamber in the first weeks of this month.

The BCCC participated on January 18th at the Toronto Board of Trade Networking Event which was held at the Royal Ontario Museum. It was a very successful event giving us and other Associations the chance to interact with many people from multiple sectors.

We noted a great interest about Brazil and a high number of entrepreneurs stopped at our desk with many asking for assistance from the chamber for getting information on the status of the markets in Brazil, and about opportunities to do business with Brazilian partners or expand their market coverage to include Brazil. We received more than 50 corporate entrepreneurs interested in the Chamber's activities and have since contacted them with a summary of what the Chamber is offering members.

With this level of interest so early in the year, we are very confident the strong business relationship being built between Canada and Brazil is going to continue growing through the whole year

Sincerely

Raul Papaleo - President
