President's Message

Raul_Papaleo_photoStarting this New Year, the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce is confidently moving to a new and more convenient office, located at 401 Bay Street, suite 1600, and also enhancing its Newsletter with more features and easer access more information. This is part of a more comprehensive move, part of the strategic plan, decided during the last Board Meeting held in late November. Some of the other moves are:

 

·  The Chamber is announcing a new Chapter in Montreal, led by Alfredo Moreira, a long standing member of our Board. The Chapter has been established to support activities on behalf of our Québec members and improve our active participation within this region;

· We also have been actively seeking new members and sponsors and we are proud to communicate that  new Leader Members have joined the Chamber;

· The Chamber is actively pursuing collaboration with major Canadian Universities and developing plans to link those to Brazilian prestige Universities;

· During the beginning of this calendar year we are establishing an Advocacy Committee and  studying the implementation of a Manufacturing Committee and ITC Committee;

 

We will have a very challenging year and I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all our members and friends a Very Happy and Profitable 2011!

SIAL - The North American Food Marketplace

 

SIAL Canada is an international tradeshow dedicated to food industry professionals which targets the North American market. Each year, over 530 agrifood exhibitors and 12,000 professionals come together for this uniting event.

 

The Brazil Pavilion at SIAL 2011 will have 75 m2 of area, space that will accommodate 20 exhibitors. The SECOM team from the Brazil Consulate in Toronto will be responsible for organizing and representing Brazil at the exhibition. The Foreign Ministry will finance the full rent for the space and the decoration of the booth, while exhibitors will be responsible for transporting their goods, customs fees and personal expenses of its representatives at the fair. The selection process to organize and integrate the Brazilian stand will be based on product quality and the first companies to confirm their presence will have priority.
