the lowest level in 40 years.

There was more dismal news, as the S&P/Case-Shiller home-price index for 20 cities fell by 3.1% in the three months to January from the same period in 2010. S&P said none of the data pointed to "any form of sustained recovery".

The United States economy is growing faster than the rest of the world's richest industrial nations

Measured in growth, the American economy has outperformed those of Japan, Britain, German and France - every group of 7 developed nation except Canada, according to The Associated Press' new Global Economy Tracker, a quarter analysis of 22 countries representing more than 80 percent of global output. The down side of this is that the US is creating less jobs than is needed.  However the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 9 percent in January and 8.9 percent in February.

According to the AP study the fastest-growing countries were China, India, Indonesia - are all in the developing world. The slowest are all European: Spain, Italy and Britain. The United States ranks 12th among the 20 largest economies plus Argentina and South Africa.

Introducing a new student intern Mr. Petri Malmi from Finland

My name is Petri Malmi, I'm a 22-year-old international business administration student from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. I have lived a fair share of my life in Tampere-region, but I'm originally from a nearby town named Nokia.

I'm currently doing my internship/practical training in FACC and Honorary Consulate.

I've studied international business administration for 3 years now with a major in logistics. My other study interests include IT and international affairs overall. I've also performed studies in Sweden. On my spare time I'm a big nature and outdoors enthusiast with experience in hiking and hunting for example.

The reason I came here to perform my practical training, was that I've always been interested in United States as a country and have experience the vivid business culture. I became interested in Florida when I heard that FACC and Honorary Consulate in the area were looking for an intern. I figured that these two organizations could provide me with good experiences and contacts that may help me further when I graduate. The weather is also nothing to complain about.

Note from the Board: You may be hearing from Petri as he will be helping us in many ways until end of August. Welcome Petri!
