Proudest Moment: Becoming a mom . I never really felt like I had found my purpose until then.

Last Big Purchase: It's been too long to remember. I don't tend to make big purchases. I will probably have to buy a new car pretty soon though.
Favourite Movie or Favourite Sport? Star Wars (I am a big sci-fi and fantasy fan and a pretty big geek).

I am pretty introverted but I try to get out there so that Miley can be more social than I have been in recent years. It's good for me too. People often mistake my shyness for snobiness, so if I seem quiet and keep to myself, that's the reason why. I have also started a cake making business and that also forces me to be more social.

Recipe of the Month:
BBQ Chicken with Peach Kabobs and Bacon
1/4 cup BBQ Sauce
1 lb. (450 g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 16 pieces
2 peaches, peeled, each cut into 8 pieces (or you can used canned peaches to save time)
8 slices bacon, cut crosswise in half
1-2 Peppers cut into Chunks 1 Red onion cut into Chunks
HEAT barbecue to medium-high heat.
Reserve 2 Tablespoons of BBQ Sauce for later.
Cut chicken and place into a bowl with the BBQ Sauce and mix so chicken is covered with the sauce.
Wrap each chicken piece with 1 bacon piece, (I usually alternate so there isn't so much bacon but its up to you). Repeat with remaining chicken and bacon. Thread alternately with peach, peppers and pieces onto skewers.
GRILL 12 to 14 min. or until chicken is done, brushing with reserved sauce the last 2 min.

Sensory Play: Baby's First Painting with Oatmeal!
Finding crafts for babies to do can be tricky... they put everything in their mouths, their attention spans are short, and they don't exactly follow directions!
But that isn't going to stop us at momstown from finding craft ideas for this age group. I wanted little Meg to get a chance to try some fun activities too - after all, she watches her siblings create and play all day long!
So I figured we'd try some painting with her - but at our first attempt use some edible paint - baby oatmeal! If you use dark coloured paper as a base, it highlights the colour difference.
She loved the sensory experience of getting it all over the paper, and of course, all over her! |
