Greetings!
What an adventure it's been! 60 pianos, 2 weeks, 8 million New Yorkers -- and countless stories of music bringing people together!
On June 21st, Sing for Hope placed 60 Street Pianos, decorated
by Sing for Hope Donor Artists and local community groups, throughout
New York City's 5 boroughs. From Coney Island to The Bronx to Staten
Island to Long Island City to Times Square, the Street Pianos have
enlivened our urban spaces and have been embraced by New Yorkers and
visitors from around the world.
We would like to
thank all of the people who have made them possible, including our
untiring piano technicians, our steadfast piano movers, our dedicated piano buddies,
our immensely talented Donor Artists, our wonderful supporters and our incredible Board of Directors.
Sing
for Hope's Street Pianos are tangible symbols of arts outreach; they
speak to the creative potential in all of us, and to our communal
responsibility to develop that potential. Read on to learn more! |

Sing for Hope Donor Artists performing a diverse program of Classical, Jazz,
American Songbook, and Indie Rock Music.
The event is free and open to
the public. The featured piano for this performance is one of four by Sing for Hope Donor Artist Sophie Matisse, pictured here. Click here for more details about the concert.

Piano Quests Around New York City
| The intrepid musicians with the goal of visiting every piano
We
never imagined that the Street Pianos would inspire such intense
musical activity on the part of New Yorkers! Several musicians made it
their goal to visit each piano, and many blogged, wrote about, or
filmed it.
The intrepid Street Piano questers include, but are certainly not limited to Funk, Soul, R&B Musician Nigel Hall, singer/songwriter Jennifer Lee Snowden, pianist Elizabeth Grimes, jazz singer Julie Reyburn, the band J. Roddy Walston and The Business, and others.
If you have your own piano quest story, please let us know!

Please
help Sing for Hope bring back the Street Pianos next summer, and
continue our year-round arts outreach programs in underserved
communities, by making a donation to Sing for Hope today. No donation is too large or too small, and all are deeply appreciated (and 100% tax-deductible!)
We hope to see you soon!
Warmly,
~The Sing for Hope Team
