While June busts out all over, we at Sing for hope are busting out our latest and greatest project: our STREET PIANOS

If you find yourself in the Big Apple between June 21 and July 5, then locate the piano nearest you, take a cha
ir, and tickle the ebonies and ivories for all to hear!

Please read on to learn more, and thank you for believing in the Sing for Hope mission of ARTS ACTIVISM IN ACTION!
The "Street Pianos" are coming...
...and we want YOU to play a part!

Remember Christo's Gates? Play Me I'm Yours The waterfalls on the East River?  The painted cows?  Well, Sing for Hope's summertime public art project is even more fun and dynamic than those.

On June 21st, Sing for Hope will bring 60 "street pianos" -- emblazoned with the words "Play Me, I'm Yours" -- to the parks and public spaces of our great city, to be enjoyed by all who pass by. After their public residency, the pianos will be donated to the under-resourced schools and hospitals that Sing for Hope serves. This project speaks to Sing for Hope's core mission of bringing the healing power of art to all people -- plus it's just great summertime fun!  Click here to read more.

Sing for Hope needs piano buddies and volunteers to make the street pianos a success!  To join Alicia Keys, Nathan Gunn, and other great artists supporting this historic event, click here...  and pass this along to your friends!
So... what's this street piano business all about?
Piano Painting
It's the largest arts accessibility project of the millennium, and Sing for Hope is bringing it to NYC!

This summer, from June 21st to July 5th, Sing for Hope will present Play Me, I'm Yours, a public art project that will bring 60 pianos to the streets of New York City.  Play Me, I'm Yours isconceived by British artist Luke Jerram and appeared in London in 2009.  Click here to see specific piano locations in NYC, and then watch our PSA produced by the film-making geniuses of jumP and manic, starring Nathan Gunn, Tituss Burgess, Kevin Mambo and the cast of HAIR!

In the words of pop diva Alicia Keys, "I believe in the creative potential of New York City, and I applaud Sing for Hope for everything it does to develop that potential.  This summer, Sing for Hope will create a beautiful and worthy moment for our city by bringing the Play Me, I'm Yours 'street pianos' to our city's parks and public spaces. It's things like this that make me extra proud to be a New Yorker, and the endless possibilities represented in these streets."
