Play Me, I'm Yours!
| The largest arts accessibility project of the
millennium comes to NYC!
This summer, from June 21st to July 5th, Sing for Hope will present Play Me, I'm Yours, a public art project that will bring 60 pianos to the streets of New York City. Conceived by British artist Luke Jerram and having appeared in London in 2009, Play Me, I'm Yours will bring "street pianos" to public locations throughout NYC's 5 boroughs. Click here to see specific piano locations, and then watch our new PSA produced by the film-making geniuses of jumP and manic, starring Nathan Gunn, Tituss Burgess, Kevin Mambo and the cast of HAIR! Our PSA has been featured in Opera Chic and Barihunks - keep an eye out for more news soon!
FUNDRAISING UPDATE: Sing for Hope is in the final stages of fundraising for this project, and we are excited to announce a $60,000 matching grant from Joseph and Judi Flom. To be part of the street pianos initiative in NYC this summer (and thanks to the Floms, your donation counts double!!), please donate here!
In the words of New York City Mayor Bloomberg, "We're so thrilled to welcome Play Me, I'm Yours to New York. Inventive, community-based programs like this one help to ensure New York's continued creative vitality, and I congratulate everyone involved with Sing for Hope for bringing this inventive and interactive art installation to our City this summer."
