Department of Treasury and Finance
Greetings!

The Investment Management team is planning to release a new version of the Investment Management standard mid-November. This email is to give you a prelude to the new Standard prior to its release.
As someone who in interested in the evolution of the Standard you opted to participate in the development of this release (Edition 4) which we have been working towards for most of 2010.

Edition 4 has not been a simple update of practices.  It changes the way the standard it is positioned within organisations and the way it is accessed.  It has evolved to the point it can now provide support to a broad spectrum of people involved in such things as:
  • developing new policy
  • prioritising competing investments
  • evaluating a program of investment
  • developing business cases, and
  • re-focussing an organisation.
In early October we gave you access to the beta site that encapsulated the standard and asked for your feedback.  The feedback we received was valuable but limited by some severe accessibility problems.  We have now fixed these problems and have what we believe is a site ready to be released...well almost.  We plan to release this within the next 2 weeks.
