Update on IMS Edition 4 and
The new ILM format
Greetings!

In our March newsletter we advised you of our intention to release the next version of the Investment Management Standard (Edition 4).  We were planning to release this in July 2010.  The new version was to encapsulate improvements to the existing practices and some new practices. Improvements to existing practices were to include:
  • format of the Investment Logic Map
  • facilitation practices
  • Benefit Management Plan and supporting practices
New practices were:
  • organisation effectiveness
  • the development and evaluation of programs of investment
  • strategic options analysis.
Since that time we have thought hard to identify the best way to structure and describe the expanded standard while retaining its sense and simplicity.  We think we can do this but not without exploiting the navigation capabilities of web technologies.  As such, we are now in the process of establishing a website that will allow us to demonstrate Edition 4 and receive your feedback before it is officially released. Realistically, this probably won't be available until early September.
Revised ILM format
Based on the input you provided towards the design of the revised ILM format we have now finalised the design.

If you are interested, here is the summary of the input received, our response to this input and our reasons for settled on this design.

We will be holding an information session on Tuesday 10th August in Melbourne where we will all discuss the new ILM format. A separate meeting request will be sent to you with the time, place and date. At this meeting we will also be showcasing potential changes to the Benefit Management Plan so that, together with the ILM format, the logic underpinning an investment can be better expressed.

Although the new ILM format (v4.0) is not yet formally released please feel free to use it as of now. The link to the new format is available in:
