Take A Break from Wireless Electronics On

Earth Day, April 22

The first Earth Day in 1970 lead to the development of the US Environmental Protection Agency. As you celebrate Earth Day today by working toward a more healthy and sustainable earth, please take a break from your wireless devices. Stay away from your wireless laptops, cell phones, iPads, ereaders, and tablets. Simply enjoy a day with your family and friends. Pulsed radiofrequency radiation can harm people, animals, insects, and plant life. Learn more about EMR Action Day and sign their petition.

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine's position paper below explains why it is important to take precautions with wireless devices.

American Academy of Environmental Medicine Issues Important Position Paper on the Health Effects of Wireless Radiation

In April, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine issued a position paper entitled, Electromagnetic and Radiofrequency Fields Effect on Human Health. According to the report, "multiple studies correlate RF exposure with diseases such as cancer, neurological disease,

reproductive disorders, immune dysfunction, and electromagnetic hypersensitivity..... many in

vitro, in vivo and epidemiological studies demonstrate that significant harmful biological effects occur

from non-thermal RF exposure...Genetic damage, reproductive defects, cancer, neurological degeneration and nervous system dysfunction, immune system dysfunction, cognitive effects, protein and peptide damage, kidney damage, and developmental effects have all been reported in the peer-reviewed scientific literature." Take Back Your Power Film

This new documentary chronicles the smart meter roll out across the world and the opposition. The movie, produced in British Columbia, features David Chalk, a cyber expert, who says, "There is not a power meter or device on the grid that is protected from hacking if not already infected with some sort of Trojan horse that can cause it to be shut down, damaged, or completely annihilated....The Internet and the power grid are coming together, and it's the smart meter on your home or business that is allowing the connectivity to start."

New Research

Fetal Radiofrequency Radiation Exposure from 800-1900 Mhz-Rated Cellular Telephones Affects Neurodevelopment and Behavior in Mice

A study by Hugh Taylor at Yale University and his team found that mice in the womb exposed to cell phone radiation risk experienced altered neurological development and were more prone behavioral disorders. The amount of impairment coincided with the number of hours unborn mice were exposed to the cell phone radiation. The paper is open access. For more information, go to Yale press office and IEEE Spectrum.

Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields from "Laptop" Use of Laptop Computers

The scientists measured electromagnetic fields that laptop computers produce and estimated the induced currents in the body, to assess the safety of these computers.  According to the abstract, the power supply generates strong intracorporal electric current densities in the fetus and in the adult subject, which are respectively 182-263% and 71-483% higher than ICNIRP 98 basic restriction recommended to prevent adverse health effects. The authors recommend renaming laptop computers to induce safer use.
