State Obesity Action Roadmap Sign-On
Provide Your Support for the 2011-2014 Roadmap

Dear Partner:

Last year organizations formed the Illinois Alliance to Prevent Obesity to address the epidemic rates of obesity in Illinois.  With 62% of Illinois adults overweight or obese and one in five of Illinois children obese, IAPO was created to call for state-level action to reverse the dangerous and costly trends.

IAPO set out to develop the State Obesity Action Roadmap to guide Illinois on a healthier path through changes in the way we work, play, learn, eat and live.  The solutions IAPO calls for are bold and at scale with the problem we face.

This Roadmap, a 2011-2012 policy agenda, and a three-year agenda resulted from the State Obesity Action Summit held on December 3, 2010.

We are asking for your organizational support.  Join the broad group of stakeholders by joining the Illinois Alliance to Prevent Obesity and endorsing the State Obesity Action Roadmap and policy initiatives for 2011-12 today.

We are asking for your organizational support in two ways:

1.      Support IAPO's principles, goal and objectives that shape the State Obesity Action Roadmap.*

2.       Support the policy initiatives outlined on the 2011-12 agenda.  Your organization can support all or individual initiatives.

Follow this link to the IAPO website to review and endorse the IAPO Action Roadmap and the IAPO 2011-12 Policy Agenda.

*The IAPO Leadership Council continues to refine and prioritze the three-year goals generated at the State Obesity Action Summit. Stay tuned for further development on these goals that will be evaluated using the policy selection criteria included on the endorsement form.

Your support is critical to realizing real change in Illinois.  For more information visit www.preventobesityil.org or email info@iphionline.org.

Sincerely,

Elissa Bassler
