Twas the night before Blood Moon, and all through the forest,
all the creatures were stirring, and roused up to chorus!
Their sins which were many, were laid out to bare,
in hopes that the Demon King soon would be there.
The humans were nestled, all snug in their beds,
while visions of poltergeists danced overhead.
The witches brewed potions, with the help of their cats,
whilst the zombies ate brains, enjoying a late snack.
When out in the dark arose such a clatter,
the creatures they paused, to see what was the matter.
Then away through the forest, they flew like a flash,
trampling the trees and making them crash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen souls,
gave lustre of mid-day to the darkness below.
When what to their wondering eyes should appear,
but eight fiery steeds, that the Demon King steered.
"Now Gremlins! Now Gargoyles! Now Witches! Now Dragons!
On, Goblins! On, Gorgons! On Harpies and Trolls!
To the largest of cities! To the smallest of towns!
Now scare away! Scare Away! Scare all around!"
The Demon King laughed, to his team gave a holler,
and away they sped off like the cat to a collar.
But they heard him announce, as he flew out of sight,
"Happy Blood Moon to all, and to all a good fright!"
