Recently one of my Facebook friends made a post on my page that said, "You're a writing ninja who silently slips in, without flash or fury, leaving hotness and Australian Shepherds in your wake!" I am still laughing.

 

The "writing ninja" reference arose due to all my recent writing action. So much is happening!

 

Most notably, this month I was voted in as a member of the Dog Writers Association of America. This is an honor I am thrilled to receive. The DWAA is a prestigious organization formed in 1935 in the Westminster Kennel Club's meeting room in the old Madison Square Garden. It was created to give dog writers the courtesies and amenities necessary to do their jobs at dog shows as respected members of the press. Today DWAA encourages quality writing of all kinds that benefit dogs, dog sports, and those who care for them. When I received my welcome package from them, it included my press pass and their most recent members' magazine. On the cover of the magazine was, of all things, a blue merle Aussie who looked just like my late Kolbe. I saw it as being most auspicious!

 

Another exciting development is that I now have a gig with TAILS Magazine as a regular blogger. The executive editor told me to be be funny. (Nothing like a little pressure!)
