A Christmas Wish
Special Holiday Message from Adam
|
Santa asked what I wanted for Christmas the other day. The obvious answer is a cure. That aside, what I would really like is to thank everyone for your support.
Knowing there are so many people who have offered their thoughts and prayers, so many who have come to visit, and having my family near, those are my blessings and I am grateful.
Talking to everyone around me - family, friends, and patients facing similar battles- no one feels that they have been deprived an opportunity of having a normal Christmas but rather they are unbelievably thankful for the chance to celebrate it as best they can.
At this time of year everyone has a smile (not that big of a change for smiles usually abound here at Sloan). Nurses are working, keeping patients in high spirits, despite being away from their families. And the patients are upbeat and hopeful. Everyone has the same goal of making it home for the holidays.
Those that will physically make it home will appreciate it so much more. I know I will.
But home is also where your friends and family are. I am blessed to have so many great friends and such a supportive family. I know no matter where I am, home will follow.
My Christmas wish is for each of you to know you have made a difference and I thank you. May each of you find appreciation and celebration in this holiday season.

The Very BEST Christmas Gift
Last week Adam had two days of testing to determine his status and the effectiveness of his treatment. He received a CT Scan, Bone Scan, PET Scan, and two MRIs, along with blood work.
The GREAT news: there has been "marked" change in the mass and there is complete resolution of the right pleural effusion. In other words, the tumor is shrinking and the nodes on his lungs have disappeared!
He has had a "marked response to therapy."

I LOVE Company!
The nurses are great and the facility is amazing but being in the hospital all day can still make for some long boring hours. It helps to have people come visit. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to come to the city. It means a lot to me.
