The

English Furniture Workshop
Arts and Crafts shows its strength........
I am fascinated with the simplicity and beauty of Arts and Crafts furniture. The philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement was an advocacy of traditional handmade craftsmanship using simple forms and high quality materials, instead of the poor quality machine produced items that were becoming popular during the latter half of the 19th Century. The Arts and Crafts movement  flourished between 1860 and 1910 (especially the second half of that period), continuing its influence until the 1930s.

The sideboard and desk below are both wonderful examples of Arts and Crafts furniture. They were made between 1920 and 1930 and are beautifully simple and well made.
