Design is in the details....
When we designed our new website we wanted to ensure that we could clearly show the intricate details on each piece of furniture. We have always sourced our furniture very carefully, looking for pieces with original period details and fittings, for example looking at the handles or the carving on a cornice. It is these hand-made, carefully designed features that give each piece its beauty and individuality. The three handles below are taken from the pieces featured in this newsletter.

Mad About Vintage?
Festival of Britain - Vintage Festival 2011
Southbank Centre
29th - 31st July 2011
If you are very keen on all things Vintage you may like to know about this years Festival of Britain Vintage Festival....
In 2007 Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway and the HemingwayDesign team developed a concept of a festival that celebrated the history of British Creativity. Working with a team of researchers they assembled the archives, the experts and the knowledge bases that would enable an authentic celebration of the design, fashion, art and film that influenced today's British creative culture. Last year the festival was held at Goodwood and was a great success.
According to the organizers, this years Vintage Festival at the Southbank Centre is "a delight, a big dressing-up box, a collector's dream and a joyous creative feast for all ages".
Tickets available through the Southbank Centre. |
