 The Good Planet Company today announces it's membership in 1% for the Planet, a growing global movement of 1371 companies that donate 1% of their gross sales to a network of worldwide environmental organizations.
We were inspired to join this organization after reading "Let My People Go Surfing" by Yves Chouinard, founder of the Patagonia company, as well as 1% for the Planet. (Well worth the read!)
One of the things we love about 1% for the Planet is that it keeps businesses honest about their commitment to the environment. To be a member, a business must donate 1% of all sales made, not just profit. In the retail world where a 2% profit is deemed successful, this program shows a clear and unambiguous commitment to ethical values.
We are thrilled to be able to expand our corporate giving in this way, and we thank you, our customers, for helping make this possible!
