Greetings!
Happy Earth Day from The Good Planet Company! Forty years after the very first Earth Day, our planet is under increasing stress from the demands of its resident 6.8 billion human beings.
Our customers frequently ask us exactly how does one "save the
planet?" It's so easy to become overwhelmed by the challenges we face from climate change, air and water pollution, habitat destruction and species losses. These issues, coupled with the frustrating political processes in place to fix them, can make even the most optimistic of us wring our hands in frustration.
We think the best solution is to start out by saving ourselves, our families and our communities. Continue to reduce, reuse and recycle, to respect the cycle of nature, to live consciously, to act mindfully, to encourage bees to pollinate flowers (see below!), to support grassroots organizations and to live well with less.
People power is strong! Let your friends and neighbours know that a Green life is a good life. As Mother Theresa once said, "Do not wait for leaders. Do it alone, person to person"
Happy Earth Day! Enjoy!

Featured Product Bee Cottages!
Did you know that 80% of all crops in British Columbia, including fruits,
vegetables, nuts and soy, depend on bee pollination? The honey bee population on Vancouver Island has declined 90% heading into this spring due to mites, habitat loss and pesticides. Since many native bee species are wood dwelling, yet not capable of making their own nesting holes, it is important to provide bee boxes for pollinators to lay their eggs. You can find more information, and locally-made bee "Starter Cottages" at The Good Planet Company. |

Home A film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
A few people have asked us about The Good Planet Company's connection to the France-based environmental non profit organization GoodPlanet.org. We have very similar names, we share a love for the planet Earth, but have no other affiliation.
Recently, GoodPlanet.org very graciously mailed us a copy of the North American version of their exquisite movie, Home, narrated by Glenn Close. We strongly encourage you to catch it on You Tube It's a magnificent and inspiring view of the planet from a very gifted cinematographer. Please don't miss it!
