Greetings!

As I incorporate my mindfulness practice into my everyday life, one of the hardest elements to practice is to be truly responsive to situations in my life even those that are filled with strong emotion.  Emotions are great gauges for how we feel; however, there are times that emotions can cloud our ability to see the situation with clarity.  This is when we need to detach or step back from the situation and view it with neutral eyes.  No judgment and no analysis.  Imagine rising above the situation, see both sides with compassion and understanding.  Then choose to honor and express yourself with a clear response.  This action at times seems impossible, but necessary if we are to live mindfully and release judgment and regret that can paralyze us.  Remember, half the battle is to recognize when we become attached and clouded.

"As a lifetime Type-A, hyperactive, adrenaline addict I never thought for one moment of stopping to "Meditate, Be Still or Breathe".  However, after navigating through a 5 year valiant battle as the wife of a cancer patient and ultimately finding myself a young widow I was challenged by a friend to give it a trial run and at least open my heart and mind to this discipline.  To be honest, following the passing of my spouse, I never felt more "broken" and would have tried almost anything in search of peace.  This new venture into meditation has given me a thirst for more and I am eager to continue on this journey with Nancy and my Wednesday night group.  For the positive energy this has brought back into my life I am thankful!" from Annette
