Does life really have to be so complicated? I am making a choice to say NO! We get caught up in the rushing from one activity, commitment or responsibility to another. We fill our lives with things and experiences that we think will enhance our life or our human experience. What about savoring the extraordinary in the ordinary? We sacrifice quiet alone time, sit down meals and time spent with those we love, for what? This month, amidst all my activities, commitments and responsibilities, I am choosing to savor those little blocks of time with full awareness of that moment. I intend to not fill it with mental or physical noise and clutter or try to "jam" one more experience in. Instead, I will breathe and enjoy the stillness; each block of time will receive its own sacred ritual of awareness.
Whatever time that is for you, take a moment and try sitting and petting an animal or sit in quiet with a loved one. Silence does not have to be awkward; it can be a time of appreciation of the loved one and the joy they bring to your life. Whether folding the laundry in silence or savoring a cup of tea enjoy the therapeutic peace of the moment.
I encourage you to embrace these simple moments. When we claim simplicity we bring balance and order to our lives that leads to greater inner peace and an overall sense of joy.
Simply Living,
Nancy
