#1 Plan for Employee Benefits
Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan

Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade have long recognized the value of employee benefits, and the difficulties smaller employers face getting quality, affordable coverage.
One philosophy has driven the plan since its creation: providing affordable, competitive, secure benefits to employees of small businesses. The results - over the past 10 years, the plan has grown three-fold and with an average of 300 new groups being added per month. There are currently 30,000 firms across Canada participating in the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance Plan. These firms enjoy:
- Guaranteed Coverage - No industry restrictions
- Plan Flexibility - Design a benefit program for any budget
- Rate Stability - Claims pooling over 30,000 companies
- Customer Service - Prompt claims, www.mybenefits.ca employee website.

Free Consulting Services
from UBCO Students
The Management Student Consulting Project (MSCP) offers confidential business assistance to local organizations. This service is specifically designed for small companies & not-for profit organizations in the Okanagan Area, and is free of charge. Consulting teams consist of 4th year Management students who are nearing completion of their degree program. They are bright, enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic individuals. The expertise from this pool of talent allows MSCP to provide consultation in most functional areas of business.
All student groups are supervised by seasoned and experienced faculty members, ensuring relevant and practical recommendations and implementation plans. A team of up to four students will be assigned your project, providing your company with as much as 600 hours of project work. Depending on the complexity of the project, student consultants will conduct research, perform market studies, analyze financial data, and brainstorm as necessary to attack the problem successfully and provide a workable solution. The deliverables to the clients include a written report and oral presentation. Client firms are expected to reimburse student groups for their out of pocket expenses.
For more information on the program, please contact Dr. Ian Stuart (ian.stuart@ubc.ca) or click here for a PDF. |

Big Changes for Us Means Big Success for Our Members!
Summer for the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce has been a busy time. We have designed a new website which will greatly improve the services we provide to our members and the general public.
Currently the website receives over 1000 visits a week, many are looking to connect with business or are trying to find a local business. The Chamber website will also appear at the top of search engine queries for Kelowna, meaning that the visits to our website will increase, resulting in increased business and awareness for our members. A mobile app will also be available, which means our directory will be accessible from anywhere, even while people are out shopping.
Our new search button will make finding what you need easy. Our business directory will be enhanced and will list our Platinum members first. Maps of the city and the locations of the members will appear beside the listings, making it easier for future clients to find you.
To get the most out of your profile we encourage all our members to update their profile. It's easy to do; everyone received a referral report a week ago from Paulina, our membership coordinator, which included your username and password (or email amy@kelownachamber.org if you cannot find it). You are also able to change both to something easier to remember if you like. As the website directs more clients to our members we encourage everyone to maintain your profile and keep the information up to date.
You can do this in 3 easy steps.
1. Login, make sure the information is accurate: address, team members.
Each quarter the Chamber will be emailing referral reports so that you can see how clients are finding you. This information is vital for you to know where to focus your time and energy.
