Second Location Grand Opening

a Mammoth Success

Amazingly during a world wide recession Bones and Stones has opened a second larger location. What is the key to their success? Owner Sandy McKay jokingly says, "If you build it, they will come." What she actually has done is offered people in the Okanagan something unique.

"We are the only dealers in the Okanagan for rare stones and fossils," she says. What she and her husband Bill have done is also secured exclusive rights to Green River Fish Fossils out of Wyoming. If anyone in BC wants these fossils they have to come to Kelowna's Bones and Stones.

The original store, on Lawrence downtown, is still there and still operating, mainly getting lots of tourist traffic, but with the larger location they now can carry larger items, such as fountains, huge fossils, larger sculptures and the most amazing bar.
