Uniform Exchange Program
Dear Parents, We are nearing the end of the 2009-2010 school year, and we are excited that the uniforms have been adopted by the majority of our students. As you are aware, uniforms will be mandatory for all students (excluding Toddlers) starting in September 2010. We are pleased to announce our newly instituted Uniform Exchange Program, a service that allows parents to donate their child's uniforms that are either no longer in use or do not fit. As an exchange, you get an item for each one you donate. If you need items but do not have any to exchange, a nominal fee of $2.00 per item will be charged as a handling fee. If you donate items, but do not wish to receive an item, you may request a receipt for your donation from the office. This program is not a fundraiser or for profit, it is simply to help our parents.
A "Uniform Exchange Form"should be filled out whether you send in items or are looking to receive items; please circle the appropriate "Donate" or "Need" and fill in the number of pieces by size for each category. Donated items will be checked for wear, tear, and stains. Any items in good condition will be credited to you, and you will be able to retrieve as many items out of the Exchange as you donated. Any non-elegible items will be returned to you. Requested items will be gathered and you will be notified that they are ready for pick up. Please note that not all items in all requested sizes may be available when requested. If an item is not available, your order will be put in a "wait pool" to be filled when your requested item is available. To kick off the program, Mrs. Fox has announced that the month of June will be "uniform free". Uniform pieces can be sent in between Friday, May 28th and Friday, June 18th. Orders will be filled throughout the summer, as pieces become available. In addition, the Uniform Exchange will be open during the afternoons of parent orientation week (August 30th through September 2nd), as well as during Parent Association meetings. We are confident that the Uniform Exchange will prove to be a valuable service and we welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. Thank you for your continued support. |
A Message from Your Parent Association
After careful consideration of feedback through a recent survey, in which all parents were asked to participate, and discussions among MANJ parents, effective for the 2010-2011 school year the MANJ Parent Association will issue an activity fee of $150 per student. Invoices will be delivered via post mail to the homes of all MANJ students the week of June 21, 2010. Please remit payment in full no later than August 1, 2010. Over the last few years we have experienced a steady decline in fundraising participation. We realize that Montessori Academy is not the only organization affected by this, and lack in fundraising participation is a widespread issue. Raising an activity fee will directly benefit all Montessori Academy students by covering basic expenses such as the playground payback, the ice cream social, field trips, on-campus visits, etc. It will also free up our volunteers and allow them to focus more on community building activities such as the Back To School picnic, and organizing events which help raise social awareness and promote the school (i.e. participation in "Relay for Life", "Alex's Lemonade Stand", clean-up local parks, "Delran Appreciation Day", etc.) The Parent Association will continue to support fundraising through the auctions at the End of the Year Festivities and Back to School event and through classroom photo sales, with those monies being used toward special projects or requests. Thank you all for your participation in enriching our students' educational experience.
Best wishes,
