The shipment of Trevor Eissler books, "Montessori Madness" has arrived. This is a must read for those parents who attended the presentation with the author, for those parents who could not attend the meeting and for anyone interested in Montessori education. This is an easy to read book which offers profound insight into the reasons why a parent should enroll their child at a Montessori School. Summer Programs 2010
Children not currently enrolled in Toddler ECP Including Summer or Primary ADM Including Summer are invited to sign up for our summer program on a space-available basis. These programs provide continuity for children throughout the summer and give parents the peace of mind to know that their children obtain the same care and understanding as during the school year. MMUN Update
Over the past 3 days, three upper elementary students and Mr. Matt participated in the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) in New York representatives of New Zealand. This year's conference was attended by over 700 Montessori students from around the world.

The students debated and wrote resolutions around the topics of "Protection of Human Rights including new approaches for improving the freedoms for all, particularly women, children and minority groups" and "Rights of Indigenous Groups, especially women and children in Latin America".

On the last day, the students convened at the United Nations and voted on the relolutions. All resolutions which were passed will be presented to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

E-Labels for Education
Here's an easy way to support the school without clipping coupons or cutting labels. Campbell Soup Company and ShopRite are excited to introduce e-labels for education. Simply register your ShopRite Price Plus Club Card by clicking here and select Montessori Academy as your school. We will receive 100 points just for enrolling; any time you purchase an eligible product while using your ShopRite card, the points will be automatically added to the school's account.

Trevor EisslerDrama  There are still a few spots left in the second semester drama session for children 5 and up, led by Mr. Barry Moore. Drama is a great way for children to be involved in different activities, such as improvisation, comedy, play-writing and speaking in front of an audience.  It's not too late to sign up! Click here for information and registration form.
Parent Association meeting minutes are now available for review by any interested parent. They are located in the yellow folder on the 3rd floor on the table outside Ms. Doris' office.

We will be hosting several Montessori student teacher observers from the Vincent Mastro School in our primary classrooms. These are individuals who are taking their AMI teacher training and must complete classroom observations for their certification.

"The feeling of being bored, of having nothing to do, has nothing to do with being a child. Rather, it has to do with being a child of the present generation. Where children are not over-indulged, they are not bored."
