Guest speakerTrevor Eissler ("Montessori Madness") Update
Thank you to all parents who attended last night's presentation by Trevor Eissler. He is the author of the book "Montessori Madness", which is an easy to read, funny, yet profound account on how his family "found" Montessori, and how they have dealt with many of the prejudices and misunderstandings about this type of education. During the presentation he clearly showed how Montessori schools are much more like the real world than traditional schools. The evening was equally entertaining and educational. If you are interested in learning more, click here to fill out an order form for his book. The school has a limited supply and will fill orders on a first come, first serve basis. The Amazon retail price is $20.00, but we are selling the book for the bargain price of $17.50. |

AMI Refresher Course Update
This past week, the Primary and Elementary teachers, as well as Ms. Doris, attended the annual AMI refresher course in Florida. The Primary teachers work shop centered around "Observation" as the key to a well run, peaceful and positive classroom. The Elementary teachers spent their time exploring "Geometry for Elementary Students" in-depth and were treated to many presentations around this topic.
All participants returned refreshed and eager to apply the results of the courses in the class rooms. |
|
Thank you Mrs. Fox wishes to express her thanks to the Parent Association for supporting the teachers' AMI refresher course. She feels that this is probably the most effective use for the fundraising money because it keeps the teacher refreshed, renewed and inspired and contributes directly to the quality of the program.

Thank you to Sarah Mantz (Aidan McClure, ADM class) for organizing the My Gym event this past Friday. A small group of students and parents attended. The My Gym staff structured the event so that the kids got to try a range of activities. The zip-cord ride seemed to be most popular. Time flew by quickly but it was a good opportunity to connect with other parents while the kids played together.
