As previously reported, there have been recent problems with illegal dumping at the yard waste drop off site, similar to those that happened at the old recycling center.   This issue has been highlighted in recent Bayside Buzz's and on the Village's social media outlets, but unfortunately the problem still persists.  People

have been dumping more than  yard waste at the site.  The Village has found water heaters, toilets, and other garbage items there as well.  In addition, there is also the problem of non-residents dumping at the site.

While 50.7% of 2012 Community Survey respondents said they have never used the yard waste site in the past 12 months, the Village recognizes that residents sometimes need to get rid of additional yard waste items.  At the same time, residents in the Community Survey expressed interest in additional recycling options.  To this end, the  Village is exploring options for residents to be able to drop off both yard waste items and recyclables at Village Hall on predetermined basis.

If you notice someone illegally dumping items at the site, please report it to the Bayside Police Department by the calling the non-emergency number at 414-351-8800.
