2012 Budget - Village Tax Levy Remain Flat

The Village's 2012 Budget was adopted by the Village Board of Trustees after a public hearing on Thursday, November 3.  The budget determines the operations and maintenance costs for all Village services.  Of particular note in the Village's 2012 budget:budget

  • No (0%) property tax increase
  • Infrastructure improvements
    • Extensive road resurfacing
    • Sanitary Sewer improvements in Pelham Heath
    • Stormwater management improvements
    • Consolidated dispatch funding
  • Balanced budget
  • State revenues reduced by 11.5%

Tax bills will likely be mailed to property owners the first week of December, after all other taxing jurisdictions have set their levies.

911 Construction

The Village Board of Trustees recently awarded the contract for construction of the new North Shore Communications Center to Riley Construction.

The work, which is expected to begin within the ntree replacement ext two weeks, includes an addition to the current Village Hall/Police Department building.  The northeast corner will be reconstructed to provide room for the new center, which will provide 911 dispatching services for the seven North Shore communities, as well as the North Shore Fire Department.

Residents can view the progression of the construction work by visiting the Village's website photo gallery.  Village crews have already transplanted landscaping from the area in advance of groundbreaking.

A Scary Good Time

A thank you to all those who came out to celebrathalloween e the Village's Fright Night event this past weekend.  Once again, we had a good turnout for the annual event, which includes a bonfire, brats, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream and a costume contest for all ages.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Canopies, Inc. for once again providing a heated tent for all to enjoy (especially with this year's weather).  See you all next year!
