Maple Trees Affected
As you walk throughout the Village, you may notice something is a little off. Many of the
Maple trees in the area are facing the same issue - tar spot. Tar Spot, a fungus that affects different species of Maple trees, causes an unsightly discoloration of trees, as well as early leaf drop.
Experts suggest that one year of tar spot should not cause permanent damage to the tree, but several years of the same issue can cause health issues. For ways to identify problem trees and prevent the spread of tar spot, view the Wisconsin Horticulture's informational paper.
