Community Bonfire Tonight
|
|
Don't forget about the Village's Community Bonfire tonight , June 24, from 6:30 - 8 pm at Ellsworth Park. Attendees will have an opportunity to evaluate the 100 plus sign residents and children from the local schools designed. All of the sign design entries will be on display and you will have the opportunity to rank your top 10 favorite signs.
Art Trooper, Community Bark, Patch.com, Vitality Personal Training, Pack N' Ship, and Cornerstone Community Bank will also be on hand to offer products and promote their businesses to residents.
Don't have a chance to attend these events, please stop in at Village Hall and evaluate the signs. Check our more of the signs on the Village's Photo Gallery.

Village Honored by Public Policy Forum

This week the Village was awarded the Public Policy Forum's Innovative Response to Tough Budget Times Award for the Village's Green Practices, Sensible Solutions Initiative. Through this effort, the Village was able to reduce our energy costs by 39%, increase recycling by 43% in on year, reduce labor allocation to collection services by 34%. Village Road Restriping
|
| This weekend contractors will be working on restriping roads throughout the Village. All of Brown Deer Road, including bike lanes, and bike lanes on Port Washington Road will be restriped. In addition, 30 stop bars will be repainted throughout the Village, including four (4) new ones at the railroad tracks due to the installation of the new crossing gates. Please be cautions when traveling throughout the Village this weekend. |

This week, the new plantings at the Lion's Gates were vandalized. Some of the plants were removed and carefully placed next to the road. Area residents are encouraged to be watchful of the area and report any suspicious behavior to the Police Department. |
Save the Date: Summer Clean-Up Day |
|
Save the date for the Summer Clean-Up Day on Sunday, July 24 from 9 am - 3 pm in the Village Hall South Parking Lot. Once again the Village will be asking residents to donate to participate. Residents are asked to bring three non perishable food items to benefit the Hunger Task Force or monetary donations to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
The Village needs your help to make this event a huge success. Volunteers can work one hour to an all day shift. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Village Hall. |

Volunteer Crossing Guards |
|
Recently, the Village Board approved a resolution supporti ng the creation of a volunteer crossing guard program to monitor the crosswalks at Brown Deer Road and Regent Road, and Brown Deer Road and Pelham Parkway. The Village is currently looking for interested residents to become volunteer crossing guards. Training will be conducted by the Police Department and is expected be begin in late July.

Village Manager Elected WCMA President

At the Wisconsin City/County Manager's Association (WCMA) Summer Conference, Bayside's Village Manager, Andy Pederson was e lected President of the organization. WCMA is a professional organization which encourages the development and improvement of professional local government management by advocating and affirming improvements in local government administration and by offering support to its members in their quest for professional proficiency.
