Quiet Zone Designation Approved!
The Village will be a little quieter starting 10 p.m. tomorrow night!
Over the past several years, the Village has been working with Union Pacific Railroad, State Office of the Commissioner of Railroads, Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration, and our State and Federal legislative delegation to establish a designated railroad quiet zone in Bayside for both the Fairy Chasm and Regent Road crossings.
Good news! Effective May 11, this new designation will prohibit trains passing through the Village from sounding their horns between the hours of 10 p.m. - 7 a.m. Village crews will be installing signage near the tracks to notify oncoming traffic of the new quiet zone designation.
The Village would like to thank all parties involved for their tireless efforts in establishing the quiet zone.
