Hi Gang,

Another Thursday love letter from Stan and Joe's. Seems like Summer has arrived. Daily weather features the dreaded 3 "H"s....Hazy, Hot & Humid. Oh well, after being underwater in June and a beautiful July, we were over due for some heat.

festivalBesides our normal AWESOME line up of music this weekend, Sunday is the 1st Sunday Arts Festival.  On the 1st Sunday of every month, the powers that be block off West Street to traffic and fill the streets with vendors. Artwork, jewelry, hot sauces, belly dancers, music and lots more are on display up and down West Street. For our part, we will have belly dancers (and no, I will not be participating due to an old Rugby injury....yeah that's it....rugby injury) and music in our parking lot. Inside we will have Tracy's normal 30+ item Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar, our killer Breakfast/Brunch from 10-2. Some light Acoustic Music will start around 4pm to ease you into your afternoon. Love to you all,
LJ & Stan & Tracy & Chiz and the rest of the S&J crew!
smittyI would be remiss in not mentioning the passing of our friend, firefighter JP Smith this past week. We had a big party/fundraisr for him 2 weeks ago, and I had the honor of meeting him and some of his family. Not only his biological family, but the fine group of young men & women in the local fire and police family that rallied around their sick friend. Many of you know I was and EMT a million years ago and have a special place in my heart for these brave kids who are the ones running into danger when the rest of us are running out.

"Smitty" was a good guy amongst all these good guys and valiantly fought his cancer until the very end.
Get some rest Smitty, we'll hold the fort for you.
