Project Independence's fourth annual Celebration of Independence--A Holiday Ball, held this past Friday, December 10, delivered on its promise to be THE holiday party of the season! About 275 guests enjoyed a variety of festivities, including dinner, dancing, a silent auction, client performances and more. We'll be posting a recap of the evening and a tribute to our sponsors on the Web site sometime in January--but in the meantime, thanks to everyone who came out for a wonderful and festive evening!
SPECIAL NOTE: One of the silent auction items offered at the event is still available and is being auctioned on eBay through December 24. The item, courtesy of Konica Minolta, is a suite at the STAPLES Center for the January 15 Los Angeles Kings/Edmonton Oilers hockey game. This exciting opportunity, valued at $5,000, includes tickets for 12 and two parking passes (food and beverages are not included). If you're interested in learning more, please click here to view the eBay link--the opening bid is just $1,000. Please feel free to pass this information on to your friends, family members and colleagues as well.

PLEASE REMEMBER PROJECT INDEPENDENCE AS YOU MAKE YOUR YEAR-END DONATIONS
December is always a popular time to make contributions to nonprofit organizations like Project Independence. As a nonprofit, Project Independence relies on donations from individuals, businesses, private foundations and community groups to provide services to nearly 1,000 clients we serve each year. For example, did you know that a gift of $40 will provide a day of transportation to and from work for a Project Independence client? That a gift of $65 will enroll a client in our Day Program for one day? Or, that a gift of $160 will subsidize a client in his or her own apartment for a week?
Your gift will also be used efficiently and effectively. More than 87% of PI's budget directly benefits our clients. This statistic far surpasses the Better Business Bureau's standard that at least 65% of a nonprofit's budget be allocated to programs and services.
Making a gift to PI is a wise investment. Consider partnering with us before the end of 2010!
