Apple iPhone 4 Introduction - information from Apple.com (edited by Cecile Bendavid)

New features in the iPhone:
FaceTime: iPhone 4 has two cameras:  One on the front, which focuses on you.  And one on the back, which focuses on everything else.  FaceTime lets you switch between them at any time during a video call.   You can see the person you are calling and they can see you.  This feature is available when an iPhone 4 calles another iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi.

Retina Display: The Retina display on the iPhone 4 is the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models.

Multitasking: A whole new way of multitasking.  Now you can run third-parts apps and switch between them instantly.

HD Video Recording and Editing:  Shoot movies in high definition.  Capture impressive video even in low-light settings with the illumination sensor and build-in LED light.  Editing can be done with a $4.99 app from the App Store.

5-Megapixel Camera with LED Flash: The advanced backside illumination sensor captures great pictures in low light.

Folders for Apps: You can organize your apps into folders for faster access.

iBooks:  available as a free download.  iBooks is an amazing ebook reader and a great place to buy books.

Phone:  Built-in noise suppression to make phone calls easier to hear.

Mail:  A unified inbox make Mail more powerful than ever.

The iPhone 4 is available for $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB) with a new two-year contract.  If you are not able to sign up for a new AT&T contract and have a existing iPhone, you can download many new software features for you phone and then consider upgrading when you contract becomes available.  Also, some companies will allow a trade-in for the iPhone 3 or 3s if you want to take advantage of the new hardware features in the iPhone.

Ask the Professor - Cecile BendavidCecile Bendavid
Professor of Computer Science, California State University Northridge and Director of New Business Development for CEO Computers.

How can I share files between my home and office computers.  Will this procedure also work when I want to share files with members of my team?

A. I was recently introduced to a product called "DropBox" that allows me to place a file in my dropbox at home and then retrieve it on my office computer.

Dropbox replaces:

Emailing file attachments to yourself and other people

Using USB drives to move files between computers

Renaming files to keep a history of previous versions

Complicated backup software and hardware

Files are saved on the DropBox website in a secure environment

If you use 2gb or less, the service is free.

Just go to DropBox.com to get started using this service.
