Business Spotlight

Schonfeld, Brickman & Associates Inc. and The Law Offices of Richard Brickman have a unique association, as all of the principals are related: Judy and Andrea Schonfeld are mother and daughter and Richard Brickman and Judy Schonfeld are husband and wife.

Richard Brickman is both a CPA and an attorney specializing in tax litigation, business formation, audit representation with the IRS and the various state agencies along with insolvency for business entities and individuals. Schonfeld, Brickman & Associates Inc. is an accounting firm that handles all facets of tax return preparation for businesses, individuals, trusts and estates along with representation of individuals and businesses who owe back taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department and State Board of Education.

The two offices work together on audits and collection representation which include Offers in Compromise, payment plans, currently not collectible or hardship status and the determination of whether or not the taxes are dischargeable in a bankruptcy.

Between the two offices, we are able to be there for clients who need us at various times in their business and personal lives: we can stop IRS or state collections through negotiations with the agency and/or file a bankruptcy if that is the best solution; we can prepare and file delinquent returns while counseling the client on how they can remain in compliance; we can provide year round tax advice and tax planning; and through the law office we can give advice on the formation of new business entities; we can prepare wills, trust documents and health directives.

Automatic Check Depositing Without Going to the Bank

By Cecile Bendavid

Whether you have hundreds of checks to deposit every day or just a few, you can use a check scanner and make bank deposits without leaving your home or office.  There is even a system that handles remote deposit integrated with Quickbooks so that payments are automatically logged as you receive them.  In addition, you can make bank deposits 24/7.

How does it work?

Scan all your checks in a row; then sign onto your bank and upload them all at once.

The software reads the information on each check as it is scanned and compares it to deposits you have made before to avoid duplicate entry.

When you make deposits electronically, you will be notified automatically when a check bounces - usually within 2-3 days.  You can also re-submit returned check with a click of the mouse.

Transactions use banking-industry standard security, including encrypted connections and numerous fail safes to keep the data centers operational and free from attacks.

How much does this cost?
You pay a monthly rate based upon the number of checks you deposit per month.  You can also receive a free scanner from one company if you sign up for a monthly plan at the rate of $24.95 per month.  They will send you the free scanner and it's yours to keep. After the first year, there's no obligation to continue using their services.

What's included in the monthly subscription price?

Besides just online check deposits, you'll have access to premium features like e-mail invoicing, QuickBooks integration, and accepting credit cards on your Web site. When you sign up for this promotional offer, these features and more are yours at no extra charge!

Check scanners are available in all styles depending upon the number of checks to be scanned per day.  Just answer the following questions:

1.     How many checks a day will I scan?

2.     Do I need my checks to be physically marked or endorsed?

Some businesses prefer a scanner that will automatically print their name or other information on the back of a check as it is deposited.

3.     Will I use the scanner to read other things beside just checks - to scan photos or documents.

4.     Do I need to use the scanner in a network environment?

Call CEO Computers for more information to start today making your deposits without traveling to the bank - save time and gasoline.
