Get Out of Your Comfort Zone
The benefits of a change of pace
Did you know that getting out of your "normal routine" is actually good for you? Summer typically is a good time of year to experience a change of pace. Many schedule that change of pace with a vacation. Whether you have a vacation planned or not, there are real benefits to changing things up, even if just for several hours and it doesn't always require a plane ride.
Warmer weather provides opportunities to get outside and explore and experience new places. Getting out of your "normal routine" is rejuvenating for your spirit. Not only is it rejuvenating, but you often appreciate your life a little more when you get a chance to step away from it for a little bit.
So whether you already have a trip scheduled for the summer or whether you explore a place closer to home, I encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and try something new this month!
Where you can go:
- Go to an amusement park and have some fun riding roller coasters.
- Have a picnic at a state or local park.
- Go to a festival.
- If you live close to one of our National Parks, then take some time and enjoy it.
- Go to the beach or a lake nearby and enjoy floating in the water.
- Try a water park, they are a lot of fun even for adults.
- Go to a new restaurant while traveling or in your own city.
- Plan a weekend getaway.
- Go camping.
Benefits of getting out of your "normal routine" and traveling or exploring new places:
- You feel refreshed.
- You relax a little more because you are away from your regular life.
- You often become more present to the moment because you are experiencing something new.
- You widen your perspective because you are out of your normal routine.
- You feel more comfortable with change. The more you stay doing the same old, same old, the harder it is for you to go with the flow of change.
- You create great memories.
Now give yourself permission to get out there and explore something new this month and reap the many benefits your body and mind will receive from getting out of your comfort zone. Happy Exploring!
