Teacher Trainings Begin

"I love that this program will provide a framework for the trainings we've already had. The enrichment of "musical cultural guests" will add so much. Those of us who have less background will become so much more confident in taking on music in all phases of our curriculum.  I love the organization and sequencing. I'm so excited about this opportunity!"

Visitation School Training Several teachers participated in the First Note Music Curriculum training these past two weeks. Teachers in attendance included those from Pre-K to 1st grade with class sizes ranging from 12 to 27 students. First Note staff presented a brief background on the program and how it was developed, then dug right into demonstrating a few of the lessons and how the program is designed to work. The participants expressed their surprise at how complete the program was and how easy it is to use the manual and multimedia tools. All of them are looking forward to introducing the program to their classes!  If you would like more information about how you can offer First Note in your school, please email us at info@firstnote.com or call 425.250.2385.

Assessing Results

Understanding the impact of the program on both our teachers and students is essential to the success of First Note. Did our students not only meet but exceed standards? Did the teachers who are not trained musically achieve a level of comfort and skill with teaching music? First Note is collecting both "pre"- and "post"- program data from teachers and students to be evaluated and published at the end the current school year.
