 Classroom Management

"I never let my schooling interfere with my education"

~ Mark Twain

As all teachers know, managing young children during interactive instruction with musical instruments anPaulette and Kids Lakeviewd movement can be challenging. One of the many tools First Note offers are management tips through visual media for teachers to refer to when needed. We asked an experienced music teacher to take us through some lesson samples from our curriculum and demonstrate some of the techniques including transition time, handing out instruments, and putting instruments away in two different classroom settings. These tips can help reduce confusion for the students and provide confidence for the teacher. Teachers will be able to access these management tools at any time through the CMF website.

We'd like to thank our music specialist, Rachel Brackett,  for her hard work in creating this invaluable teacher resource.

Thank You Red Robin!

We'd like to express our deepest gratitude and thanRed Robin Logoks to the Red Robin Corporation for the generous grant they have provided to CMFand the First Note music curriculum. Anyone visiting a Red Robin restaurant would readily see and experience first hand the  child-friendly environment they work very hard to maintain. Kids and adults always enjoy a trip to Red Robin!

Summer Break is Coming!

Summer is the time when young students are most likely to backslide, especiallSchools Outy with their reading. In addition to playing and listening to music, you might take your children to see a local storyteller or be one yourself. The summer months leave extra time for enthusiastic read-alouds with children, no matter what their age. Don't forget to improvise different voices or wear a silly hat to make the story much more interesting!
