Due to the generosity of those that support music in our schools, we exceeded our goal of raising $60,000 and everyone had a great time at our first annual benefit concert titled "Life's Journey Through Song", hosted by KING5 TV News Anchor Joyce Taylor. Foundation board member, Gary Wenet, assembled the entertainment and performed vocals with several professionals including Andy Shaw, Robert Damper and Nancy Nolan. A special and particularly moving part of the concert was when Gary sang with longtime friend Fred Rubin (pictured) and then with his daughter Sophie (pictured) which produced more than a few teary eyes in the audience.

Other performers included The Eriam Sisters and our own Arturo Rodriguez, also known as "The Music Man", who brought out some of his "Music Friends" and proceded to get the audience movin' and shakin' with shakers provided at each table.
