Program Update
The First Note curriculum is a work in progress. We have added fun, and eduvocabulary for our kindergartners, so throughout the year they will learn terms like "beat", pitch", "timbre" and "rythm", along with the names of several instruments from around the world.
Our Music Man, Arturo Rodriguez is adding his flare and style as well. Through various movements that are research-based, our First Note children with learn to exercise their brain as well as their body. We are excited to bring all these musical elements together to create a truly unique music program for young children everywhere.

"Imagine" There's No Music
30 years ago today, we lost a music legend. As we mourn this loss today, a little known fact is that at 5 1/2 years old, John Lennon (pictured) was "expelled" from Kindergarten for misbehavior. Fortunately, he had the drive and passion to pursue his first love of art and music in spite of these challenges, but what about those young students that don't have the same drive? Don't we owe all kids a chance to experience their creative talents?
First Note is a teacher-friendly, eas y-to-use, DVD-based music curriculum that can be facilitated by virtually any and all teachers. We're working hard to make this program available to all schools so even in those rare cases where a five year old boy (or girl) misbehaves, he can still explore his musical gifts!
Looking for MUSIC FRIENDS!

We are on the lookout for children ages 6-10 who would like to audition for the music friends segment of our program. If you know a child that can sing, do simple dance steps, follow directions and stay focused please contact Paulette Evans at paulette@cmfinc.org. Send your info, picture and resume if you have one. Paulette will contact via email. We will announce an audition date soon.
