June was a busy month for CMF's production of our first music CD. We auditioned and selected 15 students who practiced for weeks singing songs from around the world in several languages. Mrs. Teigen-Brackett, music teacher in LWSD was our fearless leader as she taught our singers 47 songs in just a few
weeks. Dax Baumgartner created the tracks that accompanied the songs. Once those were complete, we were ready to roll! The songs were recorded last week at Northwest University with Steve Smith as our recording director. The kids worked hard, learning, singing and recording for three days straight. I was amazed how quickly the kids learned the songs, and pleased with how beautiful they sounded.
Steve Smith, Seattle's best mixer with over 35 years of industry experience, and numerous platinum and gold albums to his credit which include 2 Grammy award winners. |
We are excited to hear the final production. Thank you, NWU, for the use of your first class facility. Also, many thanks go to Mrs. Brackett, Mr. Smith, Dax, and our students singers for all their hard work!
We did it!
