Save Music in our Schools! |
Thanks to pledges from local foundations led by the Sessions Family Foundation, we are $35,000
closer to our goal of raising the $150,000 needed to complete the video portion of our First Note curriculum for the first year. Every amount helps so help us keep music in our schools by donating to CMF!

Now that the year one First Note curriculum is written, we are busy making the music CDs that will accompany and mirror those songs included in the curriculum. We spent May auditioning kids and found 15 talented children who will sing the more than 30 songs for year one of our First Note program.
Rachel Conducts Auditions |
We start recording at Northwest University's music studio mid-June and finish at the end of the month. Rachel Teigen Brackett, a music teacher at Lakeview Elementary in LWSD, is our music director and head cheerleader!
Rehearsing with the Music Friends |
Thanks to The Gothard and Eriam Sisters!
On May 25th, the CMF Board of Directors held a "friend-raiser" at a patrons' home on Mercer Island, WA to showcase our program and give future donors a chance to meet those involved in creating the program. Both the Eriam Sisters and the Gothard Sisters showcased their talents and will be "visiting guests" on the classroom DVD.
