CMF Attends NAMM
NAMM Main Stage
CMF had the privilige of attending the 2010 NAMM*  Show held in Anaheim last month. There were more than 1500 exhibits and several artists in attendance such as Kenny G (pictured), Lee Ritenour, Carlos Santana, and many others, offering their support for music. We found some interesting products and established many new relationships at this event!

From our Program Director Paulette Evans

Paulette HeadshotIt's always great hearing first hand from our participating teachers and students. They are sharing what they enjoyed and what they want to see changed about the program. This information is then shared with the First Note team headed by UW Music Staff who are currently writing our 30-lesson full year pilot.

Music has direct and long term affects on children and sometimes we are lucky enough to witness this. One of our Washington teachers recently commented on how engaged her students were during their handwriting lesson directly after their music lesson, stating, "It's the best use of fine motor skills that I have seen this year."

We are thrilled to see how First Note is working in the classroom and the impact it has on our young learners!
