NEW for 2011
A brand new studio and gallery in a newly refurbished property in Glen Echo, Maryland with plenty of room for classes, workshops, discussions, and private parties.
I just received your newsletter and, as usual, I like how you put it together. It is easy to read from start to finish without needing to click on any links that take me elsewhere. It has something personal, the garden; a look at a recent piece that is sold and something free, the tutorial on how to ship a small piece of artwork. I think your very professional newsletter is a great marketing tool.
I am so in awe of you and your talents. You are not only a wonderful artist but your newsletter is also a work of art. I read through each article and click all the click here's. I cannot wait to visit your studio.... I can see what a great move it was for you.
Judy Shapiro :
Your newsletter gives me a wonderful time to sit back and explore. You have such a wonderful style of expressing your
enthusiasm. I can just hear YOU as you write. We are so blessed to ultimately be able to do what we love doing, aren't we?
and Happenings October 2011
Fall is arriving and I am looking forward to the beautiful colors, maybe a drive in the mountains, and cooler temperatures. My gardens at the studio have been gorgeous all summer and have invited lots of people in to visit, and now I will have to figure out an eye-catching display that is winterized!
Lots is happening at the studio and beyond with my very special workshops being taught here-there-and everywhere and special events and opportunities at the studio in October.
The studio's second poetry reading gathering is scheduled this month, Utrecht of DC is coming to my studio for a hands-on demo, Kate Fraser is offering her "Success as an Artist" day-long workshop in my intimate meeting space...... and I have hopes of hosting a drumming circle soon as well. See below in articles for more information on upcoming events.
I just finished my part of a collaborative mixed media book project that will be exhibited in South Africa, and the pages are winging their way there as I type these words. Work continues on the ABC series of animal paintings, and my mail art pieces continue to find their way to mailboxes all around the world. Playing is GOOD for the soul! If you would like to PLAY with mail art, contact my studio for a workshop built just for you (and your friends!)
Until next month.........
Get out and Be and Do!

|Another Photo Field Trip |
comes to my studio and gallery
The Washington School of Photography brought another class to my studio and gallery for an interiors shoot on September 28th from 7 to 9:30 pm. The class and instructor are given full access to my space for a workshop on the particulars of shooting interior spaces. Talented photographer and WSP instructor Sasha Vasiljev guides the class in setting up shots, lighting, and 'painting with light' techniques in my challenging space while I document their endeavors.
Check out my blog post on my daily artist blog for more about the evening and images of the workshop in progress.
